Unbeatable location and lovely breakfast with many choices...
Very clean and parking is very convenient. Near station and short walk to main mall with plenty of shopping; brilliant value for money.
Secure parking, Excellent location near shopping. The beds were spotless clean, great WiFi. The complimentary drinks in fridge
Comfortable spacious room Staff friendly and helpful
Menu in restaurant mediocre
Spacious clean entrance; friendly staff. Free use of swimming pool (heated) and sauna. A few minutes walk to the center.
Bathroom door was old (paint off) and although the bathroom seemed clean but I saw some mold spots in the shower. Breakfast was an extensive hot and cold buffet - was okay (coffee bad).
Beautiful hotel, large rooms, comfortable bed and extensive breakfast in a very nicely decorated restaurant. Very friendly staff.
Hygiene in the pool.
Pleasant hotel, spacious rooms. Friendly staff.
Bed was not so pleasant this time, probably this was because of the room because normally I have fine beds here.
Large hotel with friendly staff. Spacious room with good views.
A few things in the room were in need of renewal but were still sufficient, no real drawbacks.
Good location close to the center, friendly staff, beautiful view from the window, comfortable beds.
Window cleaning would significantly improve beautiful views, breakfast - very British (therefore don't expect anything international)
It was fantastic value for money! I paid thinking it would be good, but it was excellent. The room was light, airy, stylish decorm, clean. The lady on reception at the gym was friendly (even very early in the morning) and helpful. The gym itself was very well equipped - I stay in many hotels for work and many boast having a gym, but then only to have a few machines or no mat area, so I was very pleasantly surprised. The bar area had a good atmosphere, with great, attentive staff. Food was also good. Breakfast room service was on time to the minute. Reception staff very helpful and welcoming, fast check in and check out. All in all, a great stay, I would recommend to all my colleagues and I will certainly stay here again on my next trip to Cardiff.
Close to city centre
I have stayed in many hotels, but never paid so much for such a second rate experience. Shabby, run down, dirty entrance and reception area, poor service - another couple were refused a cup of coffee at 11.00 on a Saturday evening, we were told a pina colada was beyond them at the same time.... Holes in the sofa in our room. On the 14th floor but poor sound insulation so could still hear traffic noise all night whilst trying to sleep on the mattress where you could feel every single spring. Windows were filthy. Cardiff is lovely, the Mercure is not.
Friendly and helpful staff in all departments. 12Th floor room comfortable and offered splendid views over the city.
£12 per day just to leave a car in the car park a bit excessive. If you stay at a good class hotel and pay the charges associated with that then car parking should be included - or at least a reduction for a stay of a week! To charge for people coming in for the day for a conference is understandable but not for hotel guests.
The price for breakfast. £16.95 per person is a rip off and spoiled what was otherwise a good weekend. The other thing that let's this hotel down is that all day on the saturday they had very loud music playing on speakers outside the front of the hotel. Why???
My daughter and I enjoyed the stay at the Mecure Holland Hotel and Spa as we were able to shop, relax and enjoy Cardiff without using the car.
Our room was available even though we arrived early, staff were friendly and after a hard day shopping the spa facilities were excellent not to mention room service.
